Celebrate Japanese Canadian culture with live music, delicious festival food, martial arts demonstrations, and more. Powell Street Festival is one of Canada’s largest and longest-running community arts festivals, taking place in Vancouver’s historic Japanese-Canadian neighborhood, Powell Guy (now known as the Downtown East Side). The Powell Street Festival Association also hosts programs year-round and collaborates with local organizations, artists, and communities.

日本とカナダの文化をライブ音楽やおいしいお祭りフード、武道のデモンストレーションなどで一緒に楽しみましょう。パウエルストリートフェスティバルは、カナダ最大かつ最も歴史のあるコミュニティアートフェスティバルの一つで、バンクーバーの歴史ある日本人街、パウエル街（現在のダウンタウンイーストサイド）で開催されます。パウエルストリートフェスティバル協会は年間を通じてさまざまなプログラムを提供し、地元の組織、アーティスト、コミュニティと協力しています。

Year of the Dragon 2024

新春のご挨拶に辰の絵を描こうと思ったのですが、手が勝手に女の子の絵を描きました。

「わたしがあなたのためにいのるから」というタイトル。

新年が平穏に過ごせますよう、心よりお祈り申し上げます。

2024 I wanted to draw a picture of a dragon as a New Year’s greeting, but my hand automatically drew a picture of a girl.

The title is “pray for you”

I sincerely hope that you have a peaceful New Year.

A courtesy call to the mayor of Numazu City in Japan!

🎨 The talented illustrator Sleepless Kao, also known as Kaori Kasai, recently paid a courtesy call to the mayor of Numazu City in Japan! Originally from Numazu City and now based in Canada, Sleepless Kao had the opportunity to share her current art activities with city officials and newspaper reporters. 📰

🤝 Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, making the meeting a truly enjoyable experience. And even though it was her first time in the drawing room of the city hall, I couldn’t contain excitement and even danced in front of the panel! 😄

🎨 イラストレーターのSleepless Kaoさんが沼津市長を表敬訪問！ 沼津市出身で現在はカナダを拠点に活動しているスリープレス・カオは、現在のアート活動を市職員や新聞記者に紹介する機会を得ました。 📰

日本に一時帰国して、市長に面談する機会をいただきました。カナダでのアート活動などを報告しました。

市の職員の方達、新聞記者の方達がとてもフレンドリーで楽しい謁見になりました。

市役所の応接間に入ったのは初めてなのでワクワクでパネルの前で踊っちゃいましたよ。😀
